Music 171 is an introduction to computer music using the PD programming environment. We will explore techniques for audio synthesis, sampling, sequencing, and processing.

For those of you who don't have midi controllers and want to emulate one to test your patches, Tom Erbe has a really slick one here. In the patch you're testing, you can substitute the [notein] with this abstraction for testing purposes, then use [notein] in the version of the assignment you hand in. For both patches, you'll need to right/control click on the link and choose save link as.
